The Hocking Hills region of Ohio is known for its stunning natural scenery, including waterfalls, caves, and gorges. Here are my Top Five Favorite Locations:
Old Man's Cave
Old Man's Cave Gorge offers several waterfalls, stone bridges, sandstone cliffs, and tall Hemlocks. Some locations within Old Man's Cave Gorge provide easy access, while others require a moderate hike.
Ash Cave
Ash Cave is a large recessed cave with a seasonal waterfall. It offers iconic Hocking Hills backgrounds without a big hike. The trail is flat, paved, and wheelchair accessible until the sandy floor under the lip of the cave's overhang. The light tends to be diffused or bounced. It also is a great location to head to in case of rain.
Conkles Hollow
Conkles Hollow Gorge is an easy trail with tall trees and seasonal waterfalls at the end. The Rim trail offers the best views in the Hocking Hills but requires a moderate hike up a steep incline.
Cedar Falls
Cedar Falls is the highest-flow waterfall in Hocking Hills State Park. But it still can go dry in the late fall. During wetter months, Hidden Falls emerges, the prettiest waterfall in the Hocking Hills.
Lake Logan
Lake Logan has some of the best sunsets in the area. The park also has a cute beach and is one of the top spots to see Hocking Hills foliage in the fall.
