Queer First Anniversary Vow Renewal in the Hocking Hills, Ohio

Jackie & Bre's Hocking Hills Anniversary Vow Renewal

There are some wedding nightmares you just never expect to face. For Jackie and Bre, that nightmare became a reality after their dream elopement to Cannon Beach, Oregon. In a devastating turn of events, their original photographer lost almost all of their elopement photos.

The Ultimate Do-Over

But if there’s one thing about love—especially queer love—it’s resilient. Instead of letting the heartbreak steal their joy, Jackie and Bre decided to turn their first anniversary into a spectacular do-over. They packed up their Jeep, grabbed their daughter, and headed to the breathtaking Hocking Hills, Ohio, to renew their vows and finally get the gorgeous gallery of memories they deserved.

A Side of Taco Bell

Under the towering sandstone cliffs of Ash Cave, Jackie and Bre read their private vows in a moment that celebrated their first year of marriage and their resilience. After capturing portraits in the cave, hunger called for a quick change of plans. We paused for a few golden-hour photos in a wildflower field before heading into Logan, where the brides wrapped up their epic anniversary do-over by hitting the Taco Bell drive-thru in full wedding attire. Ultimately, their day proved that an elopement is defined by the love of the person standing next to you.
