Love in the German Village: A Fall Schiller Park Engagement

Hannah & Will's Fall Engagement Session at Schiller Park

Hannah and Will's engagement session at Schiller Park in Columbus, Ohio was pure movie magic. The session was perfectly timed for Golden Hour, with a warm summer evening and buttery sunlight creating a scene straight out of a romantic comedy with a nostalgic 90s vibe. To capture this cinematic feel, I edited the photos in a filmic style, giving the gallery deep colors and rich, emotive light. Hannah looked stunning in a cream bustier dress with intricate beading. Will complemented her with a cool, modern look: chocolate brown pants and a textured cream shirt with loafers. Their elegant, coordinated outfits instantly elevated the entire session, perfectly setting the stage for their beautiful romance.

Bringing Their Love Story to Life

We used the park's most iconic locations to bring their love story to life. Every moment felt truly cinematic, from cozy cuddling beneath a Walnut Tree and sweet moments on the bridge over the pond, to the golden light dancing in the vine-covered amphitheater. They ended the session with joyous, epic twirls in the garden as the sun set. Hannah and Will's fun and romantic connection shone through every frame. This session was a treasure, and I can’t wait to photograph their 2026 wedding at Crockett's Run!

“We don’t know what to do with our hands.” “We’re going to be so awkward.”

You don’t need to know how to pose, how to model, or how to perfectly execute a “lift and spin.”

My approach to wedding photography isn’t about stiff poses. It’s about giving you gentle, fun prompts that get you moving, laughing, and interacting naturally—and then capturing the genuine connection that unfolds.

When you look back at your wedding gallery, I don’t want you to remember a stressful photoshoot. I want you to remember exactly how much fun you had together.

A pop-up shower during your vows, the colors of th A pop-up shower during your vows, the colors of the forest at the beginning of autumn, and a love like yours - this is your sign to start planning your September elopement.
I had a nightmare last night. I had two galleries I had a nightmare last night. I had two galleries that were photographed identically. In the dream, I literally clipped off the heads of one couple and layered them onto the other photos just to save time while editing.

The symbolism is clear. I worry about treating every couple the same or running my business like a copy-paste assembly line.

But then I woke up and remembered that I just photographed Tiffany and Ricky’s elopement at Old Man’s Cave Gorge. Their photos are proof that I strive to provide everyone with a unique, collaborative experience.

I have photographed Old Man’s Cave more times than I can count, yet Tiffany and Ricky’s gallery features spots I’ve never captured before. Tiffany was like a nimble little raccoon, scurrying into hidden corners of the gorge I usually avoid.

I don’t discuss this as often as I should, but the Hocking Hills trails can be dangerous. People are injured here frequently, and deaths occur several times a year. As someone who lives with anxiety—and as the parent of a very clumsy child—I always err on the side of caution and stick to safe, predictable areas of the trail for photos.

But Tiffany’s vision was so strong that I trusted her. I let her lead, and I followed.

The unique energy didn’t stop there. When it came to editing, my usual bright, Kodak Gold-based toning didn’t fit the magic they made. I ended up dusting off an Archipelago preset called Asteria that I’ve owned since 2021.

I second-guessed myself and even consulted my kids to see if they liked the cinematic shift (they gave it a big thumbs up!). When I sent the previews to Tiffany, she loved them so much that she left me the best Google review ever.

Thank you, Tiffany and Ricky, for pushing my boundaries and reminding me why I love this art. No copy-paste galleries here—just pure magic.
