Steven's Surprise Proposal to Amy

There’s something magical about the Hocking Hills in the early summer. The air is crisp, the water pools are aquamarine, and the sound of rushing water creates the perfect soundtrack for an adventure. But for Steven and Amy, a simple weekend hike turned into a life-changing milestone at one of Ohio's most iconic landmarks.

The Plan

Steven had been planning this moment for weeks, but the challenge was keeping it a secret from Amy—who usually has a keen intuition for these things. Luckily, the perfect "cover story" arrived when Amy’s best friends came into town.

A Classic Ohio Adventure

What better way to show off the beauty of Ohio to out-of-towners than a trip to Old Man’s Cave? With the group in tow, the pressure was off Steven, and the day felt like any other fun, energetic group hike.

A Storybook Waterfall

As the group wound their way down the trail toward Upper Falls, the atmosphere changed. The waterfall was framed perfectly by the stone bridge above, the water cascading into the turquoise pool below. It’s a scene that looks like it was pulled straight from a storybook.

Amy Said, "Yes!"

As Amy turned to look at the falls, Steven dropped to one knee. The roar of the water drowned out the rest of the world for a moment as he asked the question. Amy said Yes.

Intentional Planning for Hocking Hills

I normally scout for a quiet time with less foot traffic, but Steven wanted to propose while Amy’s friends were visiting. They were all out on a hike together, so it ended up being quite busy.
